Why VidVault

Built like a pro tool, priced like air.

No accounts, no watermarks, no "premium unlock". Just the file you asked for.

Up to 4K quality

Grabs the highest quality the platform actually serves — up to 2160p 4K on supported uploads. You choose the ceiling.

No watermark

TikTok downloads come clean — no bouncing logo, no username stamp. The video, exactly as uploaded.

MP3 in one click

Need just the audio? Switch to Audio mode and get a clean MP3 — perfect for podcasts, speeches and sounds.

Private by design

Links are processed in-memory and never stored on a server. Your history lives only in your own browser.

Works everywhere

Phone, tablet, laptop — the whole app is one HTML file with zero dependencies. Save it, share it, host it anywhere.

Open engine

Built on the open-source cobalt engine. Heavy user? Point VidVault at your own self-hosted instance in Settings.

How it works

Three steps. Ten seconds.

01

Copy the link

Open any video on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, X or Snapchat and hit Share → Copy link.

02

Paste it here

Drop the link in the box above. VidVault auto-detects the platform and asks the engine for the best file.

03

Download

Pick your quality — or grab the MP3 — and save the file straight to your device. Done.

Power user

Run your own engine

VidVault talks to a public cobalt-compatible API instance. For unlimited personal use, self-hosting takes one command.

API instance

VidVault auto-discovers the fastest reachable community instance. Paste your own instance URL to override it — saved in your browser.

# self-host the open-source cobalt engine (docker, ~1 min): docker run -d -p 9000:9000 --restart unless-stopped ghcr.io/imputnet/cobalt:11
FAQ

Questions, answered.

Yes — completely. It uses a free community API instance and the open-source cobalt engine. There are no accounts, no paywalls and no "pro" tier hiding the 4K button.

You'll get the best quality the platform actually provides for that video. If the uploader posted in 4K, you can grab 4K; if the original is 720p, no tool on earth can invent the missing pixels. "Best available" is the honest default.

No. The engine pulls the original uploaded file, so there's no watermark, no logo bounce and no username overlay.

Public instances are shared, so heavy traffic can briefly throttle them — wait a minute and retry. Some mobile networks also block certain instances; VidVault auto-tries several, and if none respond you'll get a one-tap button that opens the official cobalt.tools site with your link pre-filled. For uninterrupted use, self-host your own instance with the one-line docker command in Settings.

Downloading content you own, that's Creative Commons, or that you have permission to save is fine. For everything else, respect the creator's rights and the platform's terms — VidVault is a tool; how you use it is your responsibility.

Your link goes straight from your browser to the download engine, which processes it in memory. VidVault itself has no server and no database — your history is kept only in your browser's local storage.
